End of Life

Sadly, some children and young people may have life-limiting conditions and are not expected to reach adulthood. Families have to deal with the emotional and physical challenges involved and to make the most of life. There are a number of services which can help with this.

Experience has shown that preparing for a child or young person’s death in advance of it happening can help the bereavement process and help families to come to terms with what is happening. It allows families to get an element of control back in a situation that has largely been taken beyond their control. The Local Offer makes families more aware of what the choices are and how to help prepare a child or young person for the end of their life.
